Went to the Indians/Yankees game on fri.  Had a good time, Indians won 6-4.  Had some good food.  Sat HIGH UP in the bleechers … next to this guy (John Adams):

Had a great time.

Silicon Alley Insider recently wrote an article about how much Google is paying for employees to eat. I’m willing to bet this is one of the reasons Google is consistently called the best company to work for.

“So we multiplied the $30/day by the 9,600 employees in Mountain View and New York by the 251 days Google is open every year. Remember that Google probably spends a lot more than this, because there are employees outside those offices, and because visitors are there all the time eating. (One friend at Google tells us that a number of Mozilla employees treat the cafeteria as their own.)

The grand total: By our guesstimate, Larry and Sergey are spending at least $72,288,000 per year to fill their workers’ pie-holes. How can they afford to do that? Easy, of course: Last year Google (GOOG) earned $4.2 billion.”

Great video below from the Today show that goes behind the scenes of the “Best Company to Work For”.

I found an interesting article about my hometown of Youngstown, OH on CNN.com today.  Interesting approach to combat the huge decline in population and rising crime rates.  A little long but it’s worth the read, especially  if you are from northeast Ohio. Read the article here.
